Pirates War – Splash Screen Design

Description

This splash screen concept for Pirates War sets the tone in the first three seconds of app launch. WOBL built a hero composition around a bold pirate character with a sword and hook, framed by a dynamic sea and ship backdrop, so the opening screen reads as a freeze-frame from the game itself rather than a generic pirate flag.

Project brief

01 What Pirates War – Splash Screen Design needed

A splash screen sets the tone in the first three seconds of app launch, the window where players decide whether to keep tapping. A generic pirate flag illustration does not communicate a game's actual art direction, so the brief for this concept was to design one that would.

02 How the studio approached it

WOBL built the splash as a hero composition that reads like a freeze-frame from gameplay itself. The protagonist character leads at three-quarter scale, framed by the antagonist's silhouette, against a dynamic sea and ship backdrop.

03 What came out of it

The concept demonstrates the studio's character-led splash screen capability, delivered across multiple resolutions for different device classes plus a motion version for app store previews.
