Project brief
01 What Monster Phobia needed
In Monster Phobia, a young boy wakes up in a cave in a forest full of monsters, and the player guides him to safety. The brief asked for character and environment art that could carry the game's tension without crossing into genuine horror.
02 How the studio approached it
WOBL designed the protagonist with a small, soft silhouette and a flashlight as a defining accessory, giving players a clear visual anchor in dark environments. The team gave monsters exaggerated silhouettes that read as scary at first glance but cartoonish on closer look.
03 What came out of it
Deliverables included the protagonist design, a full monster roster, and environment art for the cave and forest settings.
